ARTS 325 - Video II (3).
Description: A studio art course for the theory and practice of time-based media art exploring formal elements of technology, circulation, and context. This course builds on the principles and techniques learned in Intro to Video while developing advanced DSLR capture and post production skills. We will look at the history of video art as it relates to contemporary art practice. Students will work across social media, video, performance, sound, and installation. We will explore site-specific projection, public screenings, and collaborative projects. While a large portion of this course is dedicated to exploration and experimentation, there will also be emphasis on completing individual projects, one of which will be presented for an exhibition/screening at the end of the semester.
