Study of the medieval period from a variety of disciplinary perspectives, with an emphasis on historical and cultural overviews and on developing the technical, communication, and research skills needed for medieval studies.
Notes: Students minoring in MDST are encouraged to take this course as early in their course of study as possible.

Semester of directed research in medieval studies. May included extended independent study with a faculty member on a medieval studies topic, a semester abroad studying medieval sites and topics, or transfer of an appropriate 3-hr credit course from another accredited institution. May be repeated once for credit on a different topic.
