HIST 542 - Medieval Mediterranean (3).
Description: This course examines the history of the cultures found to the north of the Mediterranean Sea during the medieval period and explores how this region was connected to the larger world. Key civilizations including Byzantium, Islam, and various Western kingdoms such as those of France, England, and the Holy Roman Empire all played a role in the broader cultural evolution of the region. Prerequisite: Prerequisite for all 300 and 500 level courses in History: Sophomore status or permission of the Department Chair; or graduate status. Notes: Offered periodically.
