BIOL 207 - SEA PHAGES Discovery Lab (1:0:4). |
Description: The first semester laboratory for the SEA-PHAGES project as part of a nationally scaled experiment to isolate, study, sequence and analyze novel bacteriophages that infect bacteria living in the local soil. This is the first part of the project ("Phage Discovery").
Prerequisite: AP credit for BIOL 204 and 203, or a grade of B or higher in both BIOL 204 and 203, a successful application to the program and a commitment to take BIOL 271 (SEA PHAGES Bioinformatics) in the following spring semester. Students should have earned no more than 54 hours credit towards their degree. Enrollment with biology department permission.
