WRIT 350H - Introduction to Composition Theory and Pedagogy (3). |
Description: An exploration of one's own writing process, theories of composition and rhetoric, and the teaching of composition. Regular writing will be included in a variety of formats for a variety of purposes. Through discussion, reading, and targeted assignments various aspects of the teaching of writing will be explored (for example, writing lesson plans, teaching a grammar lesson, assessing student papers).
Notes: Intensive Writing course. Designed primarily for students who are considering teaching careers, this course includes a field component with secondary English Language Learners (ELL). Offered in fall and spring.
Prerequisite(s): WRIT 101 with a grade of C- or better.
