Description: A chronological study beginning with the 19th-century African-American novel, moving through Harlem Renaissance writers such as Toomer and Hurston and concluding with contemporary ones such as Naylor and Morrison.
Prerequisites: ENGL 211 with a grade of C- or better or AAMS 300 with a grade of C- or better, or graduate status, or permission of the instructor.
