ATRN 304 - Clinical Experience in Athletic Training III-b (2:0:4). |
Description: This course provides opportunities for application of skills in a clinical setting. All experiences are obtained under the direct supervision of a certified athletic trainer, physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, physical therapist, or EMT. Emphasis will be on development of skills with non-orthopedic conditions; exposure to emergency situations; recognition, assessment, and management of upper extremity injuries; and application of therapeutic modalities.
Prerequisite: ATRN 201 and ATRN 202 or permission of instructor.
Notes: This course may require participation in pre-and/or post-semester responsibilities that follow the competitive season of the sports(s) being covered in the assigned clinical setting. Approximately 190 hours of field work will be completed for this course. Offered in fall and spring.
