SPAN 380 - Introduction to Translation (3).
Description: The purpose of course is to introduce Spanish students at the 300 and 400 level to the practice of translation. Familiarizing themselves with the theoretical foundations of the discipline, they will learn to employ the fundamental tools involved. This will require that they approach texts with both creativity and rigor, a practice that includes cultural, as well as semantic negotiations. Prerequisite: SPAN 250.
