Description: This course provides prospective school leaders a balanced approach to the study of educational leadership, examination of the theoretical foundations of school organizations and exploration of the multidimensional roles of the school administrator as educator, leader, manager, and reflective practitioner. The content of the course focuses on fundamental organizational principles, including: (1) leadership, (2) decision making, (3) influencing school culture, (4) communication, (5) policy and governance, and (6) the skills, values, and ethics of school leadership as contained in the National Educational Leadership Preparation (NELP) Standards for Building Level Leaders.
