ARTS 455H - Intermediate Jewelry and Metals (3:7). |
Description: Studio art course designed to expand knowledge and skill in metalsmithing and jewelry design as a medium of conceptual and aesthetic expression. Course projects will focus on angle raising, mechanisms (hinge making, brooch backs, catches), surface decoration techniques, and small-scale sculpture.
Notes: Lab Fee: $100. Offered in fall and spring. Course may be repeated for a total of 6 credit hours.
Prerequisites: ARTS 355. All ARTS (3:7) numbered above 375 have a prerequisite of junior status and the successful completion of the specialization portfolio review or permission of the Chair of the Department of Fine Arts.
