READ 636 - Action Research to Improve Literacy Instruction (3).
Description: This field-based course builds on the foundations of assessments learned in READ 635. Candidates will advance their ability to interpret and critique technical aspects of assessments in order to articulate effective assessment plans. Through action research, candidates will have the opportunity to gather valid, relevant evidence regarding practical, literacy issues and refine instructional practices to gain specific insights into the needs of students. This action research requires candidates to work both independently and in collaboration with a colleague to improve instructional practices and promote student achievement.
