ELEM 362 - Teaching Social Studies in the Elementary School (3:3:1).
Description: A study of methods and materials for teaching elementary social studies. Course content focuses on an integrated study of social studies disciplines and teaching methods for contemporary elementary classrooms. Course design promotes the development of students' abilities to make informed decisions as citizens of a culturally diverse and democratic society. Field-based assignments are required. Prerequisite: Admission to Teacher Education. Corequisite: ELEM 360, ELEM 361, and READ 380. Notes: A grade of "C" or better must be earned, and this course cannot be taken as S/U. Offered in fall and spring.
