MATH 400 - Senior Seminar (3).
Description: This course provides an appropriate culminating experience for mathematics majors during which they will explore mathematical topics related to a core curriculum theme chosen by the instructor. Students will utilize articles from current mathematical journals presenting results in pure or applied mathematics or in the historical development of mathematics. Readings from advanced texts may also be used. Students will write and present an expository paper in mathematics and construct a mathematics portfolio as course requirements. Notes: Intensive writing and oral communication course. Offered in spring semesters only. Prerequisites: Senior standing and completion of 25 hours in MATH above 299. Corequisites: MAED 400.
