Description: This course explores aspects of Chinese women’s lives from the mid-19th century to the present, with particular focus on women’s family roles and socioeconomic activities, the sources and development of their agency, and the women’s rights movement. Themes include women and modernity, women and the state, and women and family.
Prerequisites: WMST 300 or Sophomore standing or permission of instructor.
