PLSC 319 - Race and Ethnic Politics in the United States (3).
Description: This course is designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of the significance of race and ethnicity in American politics and policymaking. Rooted in theories of race, racism, and political economy, the course considers relevant historical background, the constitutional framework of American government, and the nature of interactions between whites, blacks, Latinos, Asian and Pacific Islanders, and Indians peoples and the main institutions of government. Notes: Cross-listed with AAMS 319. Offered periodically. Prerequisites: PLSC 201 with grade of C or better or AAMS 300 or permission of the instructor.
