ARTS 474 - Studio Lighting for Photography (3:0:7). |
Description: This course gives the students a working knowledge of strobe and tungsten lighting, as used in table-to photography, portraiture and photographing interior architecture and the human figure. It includes the methods for calculating light intensities when properly lighting a 3-dimensional object, as well as exploring creative techniques commonly exploited in studio work. Students must own a Sekonic L-408 Multimaster light meter (which provides flash, ambient light and spot readings).
Notes: Lab Fee: $50. Offered in spring.
Prerequisites: ARTS 470. All ARTS (3:7) numbered above 375 have a prerequisite of junior status and the successful completion of the specialization portfolio review or permission of the Chair of the Department of Fine Arts.
